Principal's Message

Dear Adams All- Star Staff and Community,

It is with great honor and excitement that I am joining the team as Principal of Adams Elementary for the start of the 2018-2019 school year!!  Adams Elementary is a place where great things are happening for students and I am thrilled to work with you as a partner to ensure all our students continue to succeed.    I am a strong believer in educating the whole child - academics, arts, athletics and more through engaging instruction and high-quality programs.   Supporting our students to foster positive friendships and have an incredible elementary school experience is a high priority.

My experiences in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District began as a student.  I attended Woodland, Kaiser, Ensign and Newport Harbor Schools, where I became inspired to pursue a career in education.  I attended Chico State University for my undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies, National University for my teaching credential and Master’s in Education, and University of California, Irvine for my Administrative Credential.   My career in N-MUSD started at Pomona Elementary twenty years ago where I taught first grade for six years, followed by two years as Coordinator of After School Programs, and seven years as Principal at Paularino Elementary.  Most recently, I have served as the Principal on Special Assignment supporting our elementary division.  Over the past five years I have had the privilege to serve and support all elementary sites with our new state standards through the adoption and implementation of materials, supporting our GATE program, and overseeing our specialist groups (Science, Music, and PE).

An excellent education is not possible without the great collaboration of students, parents, and staff.  It is important to me that we build a positive and nurturing environment together for our students, staff and community.  Over the next few weeks I look forward to getting to know the staff, parents and students so we, as team, can continue to build on the enthusiasm and pride for our All-Stars.

I welcome you to reach out to me if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

I hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer and are finding time to relax, smile and laugh with your family and friends.

Let’s go All-Stars!
