ADAMS ELEMENTARY- A Safe Place to Learn

Student safety is the highest priority for Adams Elementary School. Aside from keeping students safe in a clean, organized, and secure environment, Adams is one of two pilot schools in N-MUSD to begin the OLWEUS Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP). OBPP is a school wide approach to preventing and responding to bullying. Through weekly classroom lessons in all grades, kindergarten through sixth, students learn how to prevent bullying first and respond if they witness bullying behavior. OBPP is research-based and addresses both direct and indirect forms of bullying.

Adams has adopted the following Anti-Bullying Rules:

  1. We will not bully others.
  2. We will try to help students who are bullied.
  3. We will try to include students who are left out.
  4. If we know somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home.

Adams 5th and 6th grade students will participate in a 1:1 Chromebook
program for the 2014-15 school year. This means every student will use a
Chromebook computer in the classroom and at home. Google Apps for
Education and numerous other web applications will be used to provide
students with opportunities to demonstrate their learning while using
state-of-the-art technology tools. The Chromebook program at Adams is
another reason why Adams Elementary is a wonderful place for students to
learn!
